Chef, food writer and host of ‘Desert Island Dishes’ podcast Margie Nomura brings us this delicious and simple, healthy hot drink, perfect for everyday or for shifting stubborn sore throats, coughs and colds. Contains no alcohol.

Easy to make, warming, and healing, it’s sure to banish the winter blues and super-charge your health.

  • Peel and roughly chop an inch of ginger and pop it into a mug.
  • Fill the mug 3/4 full with boiling water and allow to steep for a minute or so.
  • Add the juice of 1/2 lemon, a teaspoon of honey and a tablespoon of Natural Umber apple cider vinegar.

As well as the obvious amazing health benefits of Natural Umber, this drink has lots of other health-giving properties.

Lemon juice is high in vitamin C which can protect the body from immune system deficiencies. Lemon juice is also a good source of potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium.

Ginger has been known to help relieve nausea and can relieve pain as a natural anti-inflammatory, perfect for osteoarthritis sufferers.

Honey is great for soothing sore throats and easing coughs. It’s also a good source of protein and vitamins.
